                                Captain James

Capt. James discovered his love for sailing as a young Navy jet pilot while earning his sailing qualifications at the US Navy Sailing Center, San Diego. With over 25 years of sailing experience, he has lived aboard several boats and sailed the Pacific, Mediterranean, Aegean Sea, Atlantic, Bahamas, Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico.

Capt. James and his family sailed and lived aboard SV Southern Star in 2020 throughout the Bahamas. Through his time on the water, James found that two hulls are better than one and that his love of sailing is best shared with friends, family and countless others that want to learn or sharpen their skills. James brings a vast amount of experience to the team and loves to bring families onboard to teach with a hands-on approach. While James has literally flown across every ocean on an airplane and sailed several seas, his favorite waters are here in Pensacola Bay and down south along the Exuma chain of islands.

                                       Ingrid
Ingrid Hewette grew up in Pensacola and first learned to sail a sunfish at the age of 13. She has experience sailing the Greek Islands, the BVIs, the Bahamas, the Florida Keys and has crossed the Gulf of Mexico with her husband and children several times. While sailing in exotic waters is her best vacation memories, her favorite sailing destinations are the waters of Pensacola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

Ingrid is passionate about teaching families and couples how to enjoy sailing together. Sailing a large catamaran is both a challenge and a sport but Ingrid’s goal is to teach couples and families how to work together to achieve the most relaxing sailing experience. She is both a
deckhand and a weather expert and brings experience and a calm fun attitude to the Gulf Breeze Sailing team.
